Welcome to Lumicom Waste Disposal

To be certain that you are playing your part in ensuring that non-household luminaires are recycled, and not land filled, use this site to organise their disposal.

If all 16 million non-household luminaires, that are scrapped each year, were recycled, it would mean that:

  • 47,200 tonnes of ferrous material would go back into manufacturing;

  • 20,800 tonnes of non-ferrous material would go back into manufacturing;

  • 19,800 tonnes of plastic would go back into manufacturing; and

  • 6,600 tonnes of glass would go into road making aggregate or some other useful application.

Make a recycling request Now

Attention Street Lighting Contractors:
as of 01/01/09 a new process has been put in place to handle the recycling of street lighting lanterns. Please do not process your request here, but call Lumicom Operations directly on 0845 643 0304 (option 4 for Operations)

If your WEEE waste is in Northern Ireland, please contact AMI directly. Website: http://www.amiltd.ie

Note:

If the lighting equipment that you have installed has not been produced by a Lumicom member, then you need to contact the producer in question and ask what arrangements he has put in place for the disposal of the replaced luminaires that you have taken out. If you are unable to get a satisfactory response from that producer, call the Environment Agency on 0800 023 2090

To avoid problems of this nature in the future, remember to specify luminaires made by Lumicom members.
